Caribbean Week in NYC

Caribbean Week in New York includes two big public events: the Caribbean Travel and Cultural Fair and Caribbean Treats: Food, Rum and Rhythm and much more:

Cooking Demonstration @Macys Herald Square

John Conrad Ste. Marthe, the former personal chef to Bill Cosby, is excited to bring his eclectic cooking background of French Caribbean and European cuisine to Macys.
 
Caribbean Travel and Cultural Fair
Friday, June 11
10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This event, which is free and open to the public, showcases musical and dancing performers, celebrity chef tastings and much more. A centerpiece of the event is the Caribbean Vacation Mart, which offers vacations at remarkably reduced prices available for purchase and a Caribbean Wedding, sponsored by MarryCaribbean.com and Caribbean Bridal Expo.

Caribbean Treats: Food, Rum & Rhythm
Friday, June 11
6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
This festivity invites guests to sample the sweet-flavored rums served up by the Region’s top mixologists, savor the enticing Caribbean cuisine with Dutch, English, French and Spanish influences and dance the night away to a live musical performance by Clarinetes Magicos from the Dominican Republic as well as Boss & The Horse Power Band from Anguilla. Other entertainment includes: interactive folkloric performances by Martinique Sunrise duet and the Danza Fiesta Group from Puerto Rico.

The critically acclaimed Chef Bobo Bergstrom of The Edge Restaurant in Rodney Bay, will be representing the island of Saint Lucia for New York’s annual Caribbean Tourism Week. Chef Bobo will be cooking Caribbean inspired treats to give New York a taste of the tropics this summer.
