Staten Island Lighthouse Hunt and Beach Party!

What: Not a Scavenger Hunt, but a Lighthouse Hunt.

What You'll Need to Do:
-Create a team: you'll need a car, driver and navigators/photographers/assistants (at least one other person). Cyclists welcomed! (modified route)
-Receive instructions at the Midland Beach Picnic Grounds at 9:30 am and follow clues to locations of Lighthouses across Staten Island.
-Check in with "greeters" and complete the lighthouse circuit by car. The hunt could take 3-4 hours.
-Have fun and learn about lighthouses as you complete the challenge!
-After the Lighthouse Hunt, gather at Midland Beach Picnic Grounds on the sand for a beach party, and lunch.

Riddles and Rhyme

While we humans take trains, planes and automobiles to move ourselves about, puppets travel by way of the riddle! We need the audience’s help to decipher the riddles and bring the puppets to life so Jack can find his way home. Featuring the handmade Paper City Puppets, music and dancing, come along and set a spell for an old fashioned puppet show with audience participation. All Ages

A Barn Full of Animals

What: It's time for a another hands-on-history workshop. Hands-on history workshops are free drop-in programs designed for families with children. This time, the topic is: A Barn Full of Animals. Rufus King had all sorts of animals on his farm! Learn about the different animals that used to live at King Park. Bring your favorite stuffed animal and enjoy making a special craft for your animal!
