POP-UP SHOP: Bobbi Brown

What: Commuters and Manhattanites alike will be able to stock up on the entire collection of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, fragrances, and skincare in the 800-square-foot space until January 2013. Services will be offered, too. A team of five makeup artists will be available for five-minute touch-ups and makeup lessons. Still, the real selling point (and draw to attend the grand opening ceremonies) will be the appearance of Brown's personal manicurist, Roza Israel. Typically reserved for Brown and senior staff at the office, she'll perform ten-minute manicures on a first-come basis.

Staten Island Lighthouse Hunt and Beach Party!

What: Not a Scavenger Hunt, but a Lighthouse Hunt.

What You'll Need to Do:
-Create a team: you'll need a car, driver and navigators/photographers/assistants (at least one other person). Cyclists welcomed! (modified route)
-Receive instructions at the Midland Beach Picnic Grounds at 9:30 am and follow clues to locations of Lighthouses across Staten Island.
-Check in with "greeters" and complete the lighthouse circuit by car. The hunt could take 3-4 hours.
-Have fun and learn about lighthouses as you complete the challenge!
-After the Lighthouse Hunt, gather at Midland Beach Picnic Grounds on the sand for a beach party, and lunch.

Summer Streets are back!

August 4, 11 and 18 from 7 am to 1 pm
Join us for the fifth annual Summer Streets! Nearly seven miles of New York City's streets will be opened up for everyone to play, run, walk and bike. From the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, along Park Avenue and connecting streets you can rock climb at Spring Street, receive a free bike helmet at 51st Street, soar through the air on a zip line at Foley Square or just stroll along and experience the city's streets in a new way—all for free.
