Passport to Taiwan 2013

What: Since the initiation of the “Passport to Taiwan” festival in 2002, it has become the most important event for the Taiwanese American and the Mandarin Speaking community in the New York Tri-State area. The festival has since become the largest outdoor Taiwanese event in the entire United States.
Events include: 

  • Performances by TPEC
  • Monkey Pilot 猴子飛行員 (Monkey Pilot made out of seasoned musicians from different famous Taiwan indie bands collaborating together in a Supergroup).
  • 88balaz 八十八顆芭樂籽 - From Taipei Taiwan, a bluesy garage band with just enough local Tai-Ke intensity.
  • Torpid May - Melodic collage from the Far East that is at times delicate and coarse, somber and affecting, dreamy and stern.
  • The Hsu-Nami – New York City based electric erhu(二胡) progressive rock band.
  • Uzuhi & Lin Shih-Pao- New York City Japanese Punk Rock Band “Uzuhi” collaborates with Taiwanese painting artist to peform “Music x Art” live on stage.
