World Stamp Show-NY 2016


What: Designated as a “World Stamp Exhibition” by the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), WSS-NY 2016 will provide all show-goers with a unique experience combining our passion of stamp collecting with the fun and excitement of everything New York City has to offer. Start making your plans to attend now!

We anticipate over 250,000 people will pass through the show doors over the eight days. Featuring more than 200 dealers and postal administrations selling and buying philatelic material of all kinds, 4,100 frames of competitive exhibits (our show medal is at the left), a Court of Honor and Invited Exhibits displaying priceless stamp rarities, auctions, seminars, youth and beginner activities, and first day ceremonies sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service, U.N. Postal Administration and other nations, everyone attending will have plenty to do and see.

What: Watch the ships sail in, like Alice Austen did. The parade of ships will be narrated by Maritime Historian Fred Rodriguez. Ship arrival time is approximate.

Leading the Way: Six Outstanding Women of Queens

What: The Queens Historical Society presents their newest exhibition, Leading the Way: Six Outstanding Women of Queens. Featuring women from diverse fields and backgrounds, who at one point in their lives lived and worked in Queens, the exhibition highlights the life and work of Helen Keller, Betty Friedan, Rise Stevens, Lisa Randall, Grace Lee Boggs, and Yeou-Cheng Ma. Also on display, is an interactive installation of handmade sea glass-like objects by artist M. J. Levy Dickson, as an homage to Helen Keller. On view Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. until May 2016.
