Korea GAYOJE: Year of the Ox / SsingSsing / Coreyah

What: Korea GAYOJE (‘music festival’) blending traditional Korean sounds with glam rock, contemporary world music & hip-hop. Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY)

Inaugurated in 1979, the Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY) is a branch of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) of the Republic of Korea. Under the authority of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York, KCCNY works to promote cultural arts exchange and stimulate interest in Korean culture through diverse activities including gallery exhibitions, performing arts concerts, film festivals, and educational workshops

The Art Cart in Bryant Park

What: Get inspired by the urban life, flowers, and monuments of Bryant Park, then express it with our free drawing and craft supplies. Speak with the Art Cart Host to receive materials and basic instruction.

Materials are always changing, but professional-quality drawing pencils, brush pens, charcoal, blending stumps, erasers, and sketch boards are generally available. The Art Cart also provides craft supplies geared toward kids, including crayons, colored pencils, markers, ribbon, glue, construction paper, and stencils.

When: April - October, 11:00am–8:00pm, weather permitting
Where: ​Find the Art Cart on the Fifth Avenue Terrace in front of the New York Public Library.

The Game Cart in Bryant Park

What: Over 50 tabletop games are available daily to entertain you as you pass time in the park. A Games Host can help you get started, explain rules, and help set up equipment.
Games hosts a variety of fun socials and tournaments throughout the season. Equipment is provided along with basic instruction.
When: April - October, 11am-8pm, daily, weather permitting
Where: 40th Street Plaza, South side of the park between Fifth and Sixth Avenues

A Limited-Time Exhibit of Michelangelo's Most Iconic Art

What: Up Close: Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel recreates the awe and wonder of one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements, while allowing its visitors to experience this art from a new perspective.

With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced using state-of-the-art technology. In order for the observer to fully engage and comprehend the artwork, the paintings have been reproduced in their original sizes. 

The overwhelming impression for the observer will be the dimensions of the art, the closeness to the picture, and the modern style of the exhibit. As a result, the visitor can explore the artwork up close at a distance impossible to achieve in the Sistine Chapel.
