Live Action Lecture Night

WHAT: Social Hijinks! A screening and live action lecture night in conjunction with the exhibition Why Participate?Angela Washko has organized a lineup of videos and live performance lectures by artists whose projects take place within social spaces. The works being presented and discussed are lighthearted, mischievous, and examine the boundaries of legality.

The Jamaica Underwear Run

Underwear Run 2011

Here is all the information you need for Friday night.

The Jamaica Underwear Run starts at 7:30 PM at Cherry Hill on the 72nd Street Transverse. Enter Central Park on 72nd Street from the East or West side and just walk to the middle of the park.

Registration begins at 6:30 PM. You will get a Jamaica sweatband and baggage tags so you can check any belongings at the top of Cherry Hill. Don't bring any valuables. Items are left at your own risk.

Dress in your best Jamaican gear (whatever you consider that to be), and you could be on your way to fun in the sun in Jamaica! One winner will recieve a trip for two to Jamaica within the next year, courtesy of JetBlue and Iberostar Rose Hall! Judging is at 7:15 PM so make sure you're on Cherry Hill!

WHAT: Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy for the 12th season of our movie series on Thursdays this summer!  Shorts curated by BAMcinématek, DJs from Brooklyn Radio kick off the evening and bike valet provided by Transportation Alternatives, sponsored by Bike and Roll.  Movies With A View is sponsored by Syfy.

Live at the Gantries

Have your summer evenings melded together into one sticky night? Are you worried that maybe the dog days of summer will ease on by without you rubbing elbows with some of the coolest New Yorkers?
Don’t worry, you still have time. Live at the Gantries is here to rescue your Tuesday nights. Live at the Gantries, a free music concert series featuring a collection of Queens-based musicians. The series began on July 12, but it will continue to Aug. 16.
The concerts will take place at the gem that is Gantry Plaza State Park. You can spy spectacular views of the city and unique waterfront locations.
Don’t worry about the price, it is free. Just head to the park by 7 p.m. and let the show begin.
