Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City’s most valuable public space—our streets. On three consecutive Saturdays in the summer, nearly seven miles of NYC’s streets are opened for people to play, walk, bike, and breathe.

Uptown Rest Stop
Enjoy dance performances, cool off

Park Avenue Tunnel
The Park Avenue Tunnel will be open
to pedestrians for the first time in history, with Rafael Lozano-hemmer’s “Voice

Midtown Rest Stop
Enjoy samples and delicious treats
at the Whole Foods Market City Picnic, check out the new CitiBike station, get
a free bike helmet from DOT Safety Education, and learn to ride a bike with
Bike New York. Work out with Crunch with a wide variety of fitness classes
including Tribal Yoga and Caribbean Rhythms.

Climb to new heights on the rock
