THE SEED : MARKET IS BACK ON FEBRUARY 28th

What: The Seed Market is a vegan food festival that aims to bring together the best local plant-based and cruelty-free businesses. New Yorkers will be able to freely access the indoor market and discover, taste, shop and learn more about the plant-based movement.

Mad Men: Celebrate the End of an Era


Through its intimate and thrilling depictions of the lives of Madison Avenue advertising executives, Mad Men, the award-winning television series, has exerted an influence on fashion, design and pop culture. Celebrate the groundbreaking show's final seven episodes with a slew of citywide events, including museum exhibitions, screenings and panel discussions with the cast and creator, and tune in to AMC on April 5 to watch the premiere.

The Mad Men Book List
In early March, the New York Public Library will be unveiling its Mad Men Book List—a tribute to the series that features a collection of 25 books that were read by the show's characters. Nineteen branches—located in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island—will be offering physical and e-book copies of the titles.

Matthew Weiner's Mad Men at the Museum of the Moving Image
Immerse yourself in the world of Mad Men with this in-depth exhibition of the show’s costumes, props, set—and even the personal research materials used by show creator Matthew Weiner to create beloved characters like Don Draper and Peggy Olsen. This is the largest exhibition of Mad Men memorabilia ever mounted, and it will include an evening of conversation with Weiner himself on March 20.

Lincoln Center Mad Men Retrospective
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner and actors Jon Hamm, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery and Vincent Kartheiser will all be in attendance for this special event from the Film Society at Lincoln Center. Join the all-star group at Alice Tully Hall, where they will be discussing the show and some of their favorite scenes. The FSLC will also host a two-day marathon of Mad Men episodes chosen by Weiner himself.

Matthew Weiner in Conversation
In conjunction with its upcoming exhibition Designing Home: Jews and Midcentury Modernism, which opens on March 31, the Museum of Jewish Heritage will be hosting a public program featuring Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. At this special event, Weiner will speak at the museum about the evolution of Jewish identity on his hit show.

The Movies of Mad Men
Dedicated fans of Mad Men will enjoy this two-day event, during which the Brooklyn Academy of Music will be showing a series of movies that the characters on the show either watched or discussed themselves, followed by conversations with a surprise cast member and Matthew Weiner. Depending how obsessed you are with the show, you may be able to guess what will be featured.

Will your world be empty after the credits roll on the final episode of Mad Men? Fill the void in your heart by watching series creator Matthew Weiner take the stage at Live from the NYPL several days after the finale, to discuss the show’s themes, characters and complete history.

Lunar New Year Parade in Flushing, Queens

What: March with the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce! Meet at our office (39-01 Main Street, Suite 511) between 9:30 and 10:30AM for some hot coffee and donuts ... we'll head off to the parade site together.
Budget enough time to get into downtown Flushing (it will be difficult to drive after 9AM as streets will be blocked).
The parade (itself) lasts about an hour; dress warmly and in layers; bring signs and banners representing your group. There are indoor cultural performances after the parade and tons of amazing food everywhere.
