Community Day at the 2016 US Open

What: A US OPEN INVITATION TO WATCH AND PLAY, ON US
We’d love to have you join us for Community Day at the US Open on Thursday, Sept. 8, featuring tennis, fun and festivities. And you’ll love that it’s complimentary. Gates open all day starting at 12 p.m. ET. Watch some of the game’s biggest names and top junior players compete. Tournament play features:
  • Men’s and women’s doubles
  • Mixed doubles
  • Junior competition
  • Champions Invitational, where the greats battle it out against each other in a mini tournament
And you’re invited to a once-in-a-lifetime event – a special farewell tribute to Louis Armstrong Stadium from 4 to 6 p.m. The stadium is being razed and rebuilt for the 2018 US Open as part of the transformation of the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center grounds, so we’re going all out to honor its storied tennis history:
  • Grammy-nominated artist, DJ RAC will play jazzed up jams to pay a final tribute to the legendary stadium
  • Tennis legends James Blake and Gigi Fernandez will pair up to battle against up-and-coming junior players
  • Witness jaw-dropping tennis tricks by some of the country’s best
  • Take your game onto our court with a chance to try trick shots and play with some of the best in tennis
