Chile Pepper Fiesta

Spice-loving cultures from around the world will converge at BBG to celebrate the chile pepper! Chile Pepper Fiesta 2010 will delight visitors with musical performances and culinary contributions from Haiti, India, West Africa, Mexico, Algeria, Malaysia, and more. Fiery demos and tastings from celebrated New York chefs and purveyors will whet the appetite for a visit to the Chile Chocolate Cabana, where a suite of local chocolatiers will be sampling specially commissioned spicy sweets. On the mainstage, the Grammy-nominated Boukman Eksperyans, will fly in from Port-au-Prince to headline an afternoon of performances including Red Baraat!, Atlas Soul, and Mandingo Ambassadors. Throughout the day, fire breathing, fire juggling and other circus-inspired feats of flame will dazzle, and BBG’s Herb Garden will be bright with chile peppers from around the globe—including the bhut jolokia from India, the spiciest pepper in the world!
