Gotham Screen International Film Festival

With the dog days of summer waning and autumn leaves bright with color are you concerned that boredom may ensue? Well, how about catching a flick at the Gotham Screen International Film Festival. Though the festival started on October 13th, there is still a bit of excitement to go around.
How about the New York premiere of “L’Esprit du Vin”? Bio-dynamic wine-growers express a vision of present and make proposals for the future. They help us to ask eminently political questions: What Is food? How could humanity restore the ideal of living together? The documentary can be viewed at the Quad Cinema Today at 1 p.m.
Looking to lose yourself in fantasy rather than have the harsh reality of life, how about “Jo for Jonathan,” a Canadian feature film. The flick, an intimate drama about a brother’s envy, pulls you into the lives of two brothers. The Film can be seen on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Quad Cinema.
