Straight to Hell and Action Corps NYC Announce StrummerJam: Joe Strummer B-Day Bash Benefit Concert For Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls

What: StrummerJam is the first annual series of grassroots-organized fundraising concerts in the month of August that will benefit a local music non-profit. Action Corps NYC is a volunteer-led initiative seeking justice for all global citizens to end poverty, hunger, and inequality. On August 19th, Straight to Hell, New York City’s premier Clash tribute band, will partner with StrummerJam and Action Corps NYC for a concert to raise funds for Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. Proceeds from the event will benefit Willie Mae Rock Camp’s Fairness Fund. The Clash’s incendiary music has been the soundtrack to countless revolutions, both personal and political. One fight that still continues however is the fight for girls and women to be heard and taken seriously as artists and equal citizens of the world. Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls empowers young women to reclaim their power and creativity and to “Stay Free.”
