Queensboro Dance Festival

What: The main mission of the Queensboro Dance Festival is to strengthen the borough’s dance community and inspire a greater appreciation for dance. The Festival serves neighborhood communities that lack arts access and provides professional development resources for Queens dancers.

NYCxDESIGN

What: Come celebrate the best of New York’s emerging design scene with FAD Market’s NYCxDESIGN pop-up. We’ll be taking up residence at The Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill, with over 50 cutting-edge designers and makers pushing the boundaries of home furnishing, tableware, apparel, jewelry, and more.

SUBMERGE Marine Science Festival

What: SUBMERGE brings marine science to life as we learn about NYC’s coastal waters from our River Project team and more than 30 regional STEM experts. This interactive science festival invites the public to explore water topics through awesome experiments, kid-approved entertainment and much more!

Hudson River Park’s River Project is committed to advancing public awareness and understanding of our connected waterways. SUBMERGE aims to inspire and make marine science and STEM accessible and engaging for everyone; we look forward to welcoming science lovers of all ages to take part in the fun!

The Rockaway Beach Bazaar returns!

What: The bazaar features local favorites, such as Red Hook Lobster, Seaney Pizza, Hook Burger and SandShark Bar. The rest of the vendors will begin serving the community on Memorial Day weekend and continue seven days a week throughout the summer. In addition to the delectable food options, the bazaar will host a variety of local retail shops.

The Rockaway Bazaar will serve not only as a hub for local shopping and dining, but also as a cultural venue with a summer music series. More information here.

French Summer Camps & Classes

What: This summer, your children will learn, laugh and have fun in French with the Summer Games. Each week’s camp will focus on a city that has hosted the Games, with lessons themed around the geography and the culture of the hosting country, a type of game, famous athletes, and other related aspects of the Games. Best of all, they will learn how to work together and collaborate just like the champion teams will do in Paris this summer!

The People’s Ball: A Night of Style, Imagination, Freedom and You!

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts welcomes children to experience the natural beauty of our campus and the transformative power of music by enrolling in our Allegro Music Program. The program invites musicians in grades 2–12 to advance their performance and playing skills and nurture their appreciation of music on our beautiful woodland campus.

Usdan also offers programs for students k–12 in visual art, creative wiring, dance, theater, chess, nature and sustainability, and recreational arts. Bus transportation is available from Nassau and Suffolk Counties and New York City.

Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting 2022

The holiday season will begin with the 90th annual tree lighting in the heart of New York City at Rockefeller Center on Wednesday, November 30.

Families across the US can view the Christmas tree lighting from home, live on the national broadcast “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on NBC.

Once the tree is lit, families can visit (and maybe do some skating!) through January. The tree is displayed between West 49th and 50th streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

Tree Lighting Skate-tacular at Bryant Park

Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park hosts its annual tree lighting, with performances by The Classical Theatre of Harlem Choir as well as a stellar lineup of live skate performances, and an appearance by Santa!

The in-person event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Entry begins at 4pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tavern on the Green's 6th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Tavern on the Green brings the holiday spirit to New York with its sixth annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, featuring Tavern on the Green’s very own 20-foot Christmas tree, topped with more than 2,000 ornaments and 10,000 lights to light up New York City’s Upper West Side skyline.

Festivities also include performances from the Manhattan Holiday Carolers and DJ Tweed, and a special surprise Broadway performance. Tavern on the Green provides complimentary hot chocolate, hot cider, and treats for all who attend.

The Seaport Holiday Tree Lighting November 29

Trees, mistletoe. The streets all aglow. It’s almost time to make merry.

The Seaport Holiday Tree will be lit on Tuesday, November 29, and you’re invited to join us for all the festive season fun. There’ll be live music, surprises, and the countdown to the tree lighting that marks the official start of the holidays.

The fun begins at 5pm, with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and live performances. An after-party on the Ice Rink follows at 7pm. See below for details, along with all the other festive activities, treats, photo opps and shopping that will be available on the night.
