The World’s First Craft Can Takeover!

What: January is beer can month at Idle Hands Bar! We're going big several beer can themed parties, a rotating selection of craft beer in cans and a beer can passport. We'll be featuring canned beer from Oskar Blues, Avery, Sixpoint, Flying Dog, Butternuts, Shiner, Coors, 21st Amendment, Harpoon and more.

The official birthday of the beer can is January 24th, 1935. That is the day that the first commercially successful canned beer went on sale to the general public. The brewery was the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company of Newark, New Jersey; the beer was Krueger’s Finest and Krueger’s Cream Ale; and the shop was test-marketed in Richmond, Virginia
