On-the-ground help for the Rockaways.


The Ali Forney Center, which helps homeless LGBT youth get off the streets and into safe environments, was virtually destroyed by Sandy. Donations needed urgently.


Chinatown is getting a lot of help from CAAAV, the Hester Street group that in normal times assists Asian immigrants and refugees to organize, now leading efforts in the neighborhood for hurricane relief. They're accepting donations and welcome volunteers. Email justice@caaav.org.


Staten Island Assemblyman Matthew Titone has set up this wish Amazon list for Relief Supplies.
