Target First Saturdays

In support of individuals and NYC public schools affected by Hurricane Sandy, the Brooklyn Museum will be collecting supplies during Target First Saturday, from 5 to 11 p.m. If you would like to donate, the items most needed include baby diapers, wipes, and hand sanitizer, as well as classroom supplies such as construction paper, notebooks, pencils, and crayons. We appreciate your support.

6 p.m.
This screening of clips from documentary Flex is Kings (Deidre Schoo and Michael Beach Nichols), on dance movement "flexing," will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and a dance demonstration. Free tickets (310) available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m.

Performance
9 p.m.
Poet and festival director Amanda Deutch presents vignettes from Parachute: The Coney Island Performance Festival. Free tickets (30) available at the Visitor Center at 8 p.m.


At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month. All evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. Parking is a flat rate of $5 starting at 5 p.m. All other Saturdays, the Museum closes at 6 p.m.
