Earth Day NYC

GROWTH MOVEMENT: Show your appreciation for Mother Earth during the Waking Up the Farm Earth Day Celebration. Bring the family down to Hattie Carthan Herban Farm for hands-on workshops like grounding exercises, making a germination mix and seed starting. HIGH COMMITMENT: The High Line Volunteer Fair will have staff and current volunteers teaching about ways community members can share their talents. ‘ISLAND’ OF SURVIVAL: In partnership with PBS’ “Independent Lens,” the city parks series Arts, Culture & Fun presents the documentary “Island President.” It tells the story of Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed’s efforts to combat rising sea levels brought by climate change. B’WAY SPRINGS INTO ACTION: Singers Forum will present “Showstoppers! Spring Awakenings” at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
