French Institute Alliance Française presents Crossing the Line 2011

What: The fifth edition of Crossing the Line presents diverse and dynamic work from significant artists who are revolutionizing artistic practices on both sides of the Atlantic.

Highlights include:
• Free Festival Opening this Sat, Sept 17 with commissioned installations, site-specific performances, a free downloadable audio-guided walk along Museum Mile from Soundwalk, The Spermbar happening, and more!

• Xavier Le Roy's acclaimed More Mouvements für Lachenmann on Mon, Sept 19

• Lecture/Performance series featuring Xavier Le Roy's Product of Circumstances, Jos Houben's The Art of Laughter, a new commissioned work from Ralph Lemon, and Gérald Kurdian's 1999

• Works by Kimberly Bartosik at Danspace Project, Rachid Ouramdane at New York Live Arts, Cuqui Jerez at PS 122, and Faustin Linyekula at The Kitchen
